Hello, my name is Allison Sliwowski; the children call me Miss Allison. I am pleased to be the teacher in our Pre-Kindergarten program for 3 year olds at Catholic Academy of Niagara Falls. Our program stresses socialization and development of fine and gross motor skills through exploratory learning. Students do have a rest time and participate in gym and music class. The main program for 3 year olds is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with enrichment days on Monday and Friday. Students can attend up to 5 days per week.
This year, Vicki Bower (Miss Vicki) and Alberta DeMartino (Miss Alberta) will be the Pre-K 3 classroom aides. We have many exciting activities planned to encourage the children to learn in a safe, exploratory environment. It is our hope they will gain a strong sense of self and love for learning. Miss Vicki, Miss Alberta, and I are looking forward to spending time with the children and getting to know each one of them. Click on the Early Learning Center under the Academics tab to learn more about our program and to access our handbook. Welcome Letter (includes Supply List below) for the 2017-2018 School Year
I have many exciting plans for the upcoming year and look forward to sharing them with the children. To better prepare for the start of school, listed below is the supplies your child needs for the classroom. On Wednesday, August 30th, the school will be open from 4:00 – 7:00 pm to drop off the classroom school supplies. In addition to supply drop off, the school will be hosting a multi-consultants Lula Roe Party from 3:30 to 7:00 pm and a Menchie’s Yogurt Fundraiser. At the school, there will be several consults with their inventory of clothes including selections in both women and children sizes. If you stop in for frozen yogurt at Menchie’s and tell them you are with Catholic Academy, the school will receive a percentage of the proceeds. Please come and help support the school by shopping and going for yogurt after you drop off the supplies to the classroom.

1 plastic (disposable) tablecloth

A rest mat will be needed for school. To remain consistent and meet the needs of the classroom, we ask that you purchase the mat from CAONF. The cost is $25.00 and the mats are available in your child’s classroom.
This year we will be collecting a $15.00 craft fee to help cover the cost of some of our classroom experiments and sensory play items.

On Wednesday, September 6, 2017 we will be having an Open House/ Parent Welcome for Pre-K3 families. This is time for you and your child to meet the teachers, meet some of the other families and see the classroom (room 110). In addition, I will also be going over some policies and procedures for the start of our school year. If your child attends school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, our Open House time will be 8:00 to 9:30 am. The presentation on policies and procedures will begin at 8:30 am. If your child attends the 5-day program or attends only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, our Open House time is 9:45 to 11:15 am with the presentation starting at 10:15 am.
Thursday, September 7, will be the first day of school for children who come 5 days or Tuesday/Thursdays. Friday, September 8 will be the first day for the rest of the children. Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to spending a very exciting “Disney – themed” year with our new families.
