Mrs. Sliwowski's Page ("Miss Allison")

Hello, my name is Allison Sliwowski; the children call me Miss Allison. I am pleased to be the teacher in our Pre-Kindergarten program for 3 year olds at Catholic Academy of Niagara Falls. Our program stresses socialization and development of fine and gross motor skills through exploratory learning. Students do have a rest time and participate in gym and music class. The main program for 3 year olds is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with enrichment days on Monday and Friday. Students can attend up to 5 days per week.

This year, Vicki Bower (Miss Vicki) and Alberta DeMartino (Miss Alberta) will be the Pre-K 3 classroom aides. We have many exciting activities planned to encourage the children to learn in a safe, exploratory environment. It is our hope they will gain a strong sense of self and love for learning. Miss Vicki, Miss Alberta, and I are looking forward to spending time with the children and getting to know each one of them. Click on the Early Learning Center under the Academics tab to learn more about our program and to access our handbook. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask Miss Vicki, Miss Alberta or myself. Thank you for sharing your children with us.

We will be having an Open House/ Parent Welcome for Pre-K3 families on Thursday, September 1, 2016. This is time for you and your child to meet the teachers, meet some of the other families and see the classroom (room 110). In addition I will also be going over some policies and procedures for the start of our school year.

To better prepare for the start of school, I have enclosed a list of supplies needed for the classroom. Please bring these items to school when you come for Open House on the 1st.

              PreK-3 Supply List
      1 package of baby wipes
      1 package of flushable wipes
      2 boxes of Kleenex
      3 rolls of paper towels
2 package 5oz Dixie paper cups
3 containers of Clorox or Lysol disinfecting wipes
      1 plastic (disposable) tablecloth

1 Box of 1 gallon sized Ziploc bags (boys)
1 Box of sandwich sized Ziploc bags (girls)
      1 can Lysol spray
      A bag of dried beans

A rest mat will be needed for school. To remain consistent and meet the needs of the classroom, we ask that you purchase the mat from CAONF. The cost is $25.00 and the mats are available in your child’s classroom.

This year we will be collecting a $15 craft fee to help cover the cost of some of our classroom experiments and sensory play items. If you would like to send in any additional items, our classroom is always in need of:
      White Hair Conditioner
      Colored Cotton Balls
